Living Orthodox Tradition is dedicated to making readily accessible a broad selection of documents and theological writings reflecting the living tradition of the Orthodox Church. This site is faithful to Orthodox tradition, sharing the wisdom of ancient and modern Fathers and Mothers of the Church, and engaged in dialogue and challenge where appropriate with the modern world.
The focus of the website is on primary texts of Orthodox thought from the mid-19th century to the present, rather than scholarly expositions relating to this period. The website does not publish original material, except for short introductions to texts already published elsewhere (generally in print), and made available on the site.
The website is a project of the Orthodox School of Theology at Trinity College (University of Toronto). It is directed and implemented by a Management Committee consisting of Dr Paul Ladouceur, Dr Daniel Opperwall, the Rev Fr Theodore Paraskevopoulos, and the co-directors of the Orthodox School of Theology, the Very Rev Fr Geoffrey Ready and Professor Richard Schneider. The website is supported by an International Advisory Panel of prominent Orthodox scholars and church members that proposes and advises on texts to be included on the website.
The idea of the creation of this website is supported by the Orthodox Theological Society in America, by resolution at its annual meeting held at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Seminary on October 1, 2016.
